Our partnership with the Riverwest Food Pantry and Groundwork Milwaukee is helping the community discover the joys of urban farming. Volunteers are invited to get a little dirty and know that together we are bringing delicious, healthy and locally grown produce to benefit thousands of families.
The produce is grown in our hoop houses on the grounds of our corporate headquarters on Milwaukee’s North Side. We are growing thousands of pounds of produce that will be distributed to families in need through the Riverwest Food Pantry.
In addition, we have a long-standing tradition of support for The Annual Tomato Romp, North America’s first rotten tomato fight for a good cause with all tomato fight proceeds donated to the Riverwest Food Pantry to help end hunger in our community.
Maglio Companies’ employees also participate in the annual Farm Factory Fork High school career discovery. The event exposes high school students to careers in the food industry and ensures a pipeline of talent for the food and beverage industry as the world prepares to double our food production by the year 2050 to feed a global population of 9.7 billion people.
